Waterford Fair, Frederick, Maryland Photographer

This year I participated in Waterford Fair's Annual Juried Photography Exhibit.  I won two ribbons, one in the portraiture category, and one for an abstract.  It is a great venue to show recent work, sell items (I sold a lot of notecards this year) and meet other photographers, especially if you volunteer to work during the fair days.

Here is my interpretation of the Waterford Fair.  If you have never been, please check out my photos.

Liam and Luke learned how to make a spark with wood from this woodworker who hails from West Virginia.

Left: Liam got it going.  Right: Luke
Luke's turn.  "Push it!"  We ended buying several items from the woodworker so his tactic to engage the kids first worked.  Allegheny Treenware make beautiful utensils and we got ourselves a unique cutting board.

The Holy Ghost Tent Revival at The Folly, Frederick MD Photographer

We took our boys to their first rock concert (of their memory) at The Folly in Shepherdstown on July 13, 2011.  We forgot it was BYOB but at least we BYOJuiceBoxes.

Love the background characters.  They said this was the most unique stage they had ever played on.
Check out the drummer, Ross making friends at the beginning of the show.

It was past my boys bedtime so we had to leave part-way through, but we had fun.  In fact we may be seeing the band again tonight at Cafe Nola in Frederick.

Big Cork Vineyards Farm Stand, Frederick Maryland Photographer

Produce

Farm Stand at Big Cork Vineyards in Rohersville, Maryland on Opening Day.

Field to vase

Check out the big sky...vineyards in the background with veggies in the foreground.

Big Cork Vineyards in using the time waiting for grapes to grow by selling farm produce.  Saturday, July 16, was their first day to sell beans, cukes, peppers, squash, zucchini and flowers from their stand in Rohersville, Maryland, just off Route 67.  The tomatoes will ripen soon and the zinnias are gorgeous.  We bought some green and purple snap beans as well as two cucumbers which my boys have recently taken a liking to.

Wine production will begin in 2012 and the Tasting room plans to open in 2013. In the meantime I can have a juicy tomato sandwich while I wait for my glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Prom 2011, Bruswick High School, Bruswick, Maryland

This was such a fun evening.  Each time I look at this group of photos I smile.  Nothing like getting dressed up and spending the night on the town with friends!
